Just when you think it’s safe to leave the room for even a minute, they out-smart you!!!
Aidan and Liam were playing ever so sweetly at the kitchen island this morning. Luke was fully captivated on the couch by Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I thought I would take advantage of this brief instance of ‘calm’ and decided to run quickly upstairs to grab their clothes for the day. I was gone one minute, at most, and came back to find all three monkeys on the couch entertained by Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Awww… what good boys I have this morning!
Then I looked at my kitchen island to find this…
Oh boy…
I’m not exactly sure how many pieces of gum were in this package to begin with, but it’s clearly empty now. I counted SEVEN foil wrappers as I gathered them for the trash.
I scanned my trio of sweet children on the couch… Luke was still sitting sweet as ever, just as he was when I had left him. He still had his paci in his mouth, so he appeared to be innocent of this crime. Aidan had no gum in his mouth, but his tongue was a bright shade of RED, and his breath was nice and fruity. Hmmmm… appears to be guilty, given the evidence. (Of course HE would assume this to be FOOD. Knowing him he probably at the wrappers too…)
Then there’s this one…
Liam…. of course!!!
Look at that!!! That’s got to be at least four of the seven pieces.
Those darn dimples!!! Well… at least he didn’t swallow it… not that he could… given the size of it…
GUILTY!!! Now if I can just figure out how to wrangle it out of his mouth.
Guess I need to find a new place for my purse too, huh?
