Today has been an uneventful Friday. A cold front is blowing in, so it’s been really windy and cloudy. I used this as my excuse to order my groceries online, not that I really need an excuse with 5 kids at home. I think it’s well worth the $9.95 for my sanity alone. All the babies have a cold right now, thanks to our decision to visit a local church last Sunday. I should have known that within 2 days all the babies would be sick. So far it’s just 3 runny noses. Hopefully it will stop there and run its course quickly. Unfortunately I have that tingle in my nose and itch in my throat, so of course they decided to share it with me too. No surprise, considering each of them was awake at one point or another last night. I honestly don’t know how I have an ounce of fat on my body as many times as I climb the stairs and run between bedrooms. They haven’t all consistently slept well since our move, but it’s much worse when they are sick. Aidan has a habit of getting into bed with mommy & daddy in the wee hours of every morning, but at least he goes back to sleep. Conversely, there have been many mornings where I grab my pillow and truck it down to the playroom with Luke & Liam at 4:30am. It took me until midnight last night to finish watching McDreamy & McSteamy following my night out with the triplet moms. I don’t know how I ever lived without the DVR!
My dinner last night was fantastic. There were actually 11 of us there. I think we have 40 children between us. Hot topics of the night were the crazy octuplet mom, and the latest addiction for everyone… Facebook! This blog is actually helping me reduce my FB time, but of course I’m still tied to the computer. The group meets for dinner once a month, and I’m already looking forward to the next one. I really liked the shirt I had on last night, but I now see it isn’t all that flattering on camera. Matt told me he didn’t like it. Maybe I should listen to him!
I’ve spent the remainder of my day doing laundry, feeding children, and cleaning up after feeding children. Nothing exciting. Tonight we are planning a quiet evening at home as a family. We’re supposed to watch ‘Space Buddies’ and finalize our vacation plans. We may be leaving as early as Tuesday. Nothing like waiting until the last minute! I’m not at all motivated to cook, and my groceries won’t be here until tomorrow morning, so Chinese is sounding really good right now!
