Grrrr!!! I am NOT HAPPY about this one bit!!! How did he even do this? At roughly $80 a pop, I’m not too keen on replacing these tents either. I already had one with a defective zipper from the initial purchase that I returned. No additional out-of-pocket cost, but a hassle for sure. Who knows what will happen next. Nap time seems to be the issue. They don’t seem to mess with them at night. Sweet Aidan is the only innocent one this time, go figure… guess there are advantages for sleeping alone on my bed at nap time. For now they are going to continue to sleep in these things until they are no longer recognizable. Care to place any bets on how long that will be??? As I type this, I can hear a party going on in the trio’s room. Pray for me.
Not Happy…
Ever since THIS incident, we’ve had the littles in crib tents. Ahhh… what a wonderful invention these things are! I LOVE them. The littles don’t mind them either. In fact, they actually will tell me to zip them if I don’t do it quick enough… or they’ll try and do it themselves. They were NOWHERE NEAR ready for the freedom of toddler beds, and still aren’t. I learned that the hard way. Honestly I am hoping to avoid toddler beds all together and go straight to big boy (twin) beds. However, finding a house with a large enough room to fit 3 twin beds (in California) is going to present some challenges. There’s not way they will ever have their own room unless I hit the lottery. It was hard enough for us to find a 4 bedroom house out here, much less a SIX bedroom… in budget, at least. So… I’m planning to keep them in their tented cribs for as long as I can… Well, I was… anyway.
Over the last week or so, Luke has been ‘picking’ at his crib tent. I say ‘picking’, but I honestly don’t know what he’s been doing to it… I can only assume. I haven’t been at all happy about this, but what can you do? Sure , I can tell him ‘no, no’, and ‘uh-oh’, etc… but what good is that once the damage is done? Do they really even understand what I’m saying? My guess is yes, though they choose to ignore me.
If that wasn’t enough, this is unfortunately contagious. I went to wake Luke & Liam from nap yesterday so we could pick N&E up from school, and this is what I found… Liam’s crib this time…

June 19, 2010 at 7:31 amMichelle, I never get the chance to use crib tents as they don't sell them in europe…go figure. so mine have been sleeping in toddler beds since they were 18 months old, and it's been far from easy. beside the mess they can cause in their room (can handle) I can't tell you how many times I have to bring back to bed the two boys with yelling screaming and tears (CAN'T handle). the worst is at night as they still take a nap after lunch, so the point is: can they quite their nap (at the age of two 1/2) so they would easily go to sleep at 8pm?? I would do it (for my piece of mind) but I don't want to stress them to much. 12 hours straight awake maybe is still too much for them. what do you think?

June 21, 2010 at 7:28 pmWe have the crib tents too and I am with you, they are staying in cribs for as long as possible. How in the world did they make those holes? I hope for you that they don't make them big enough to climb through. Good luck making them last as long as possible!
