BOK!!! BOK!!!
(Yeah… I know…. just couldn’t help myself…)
Well, despite our move, the Easter Bunny managed to find our house again this year…
I had it all planned out in my head…. I would have my melt-in-your-mouth French toast casserole ready to load into the oven Easter morning, my 5 boys would parade (in a single-file line, of course) into the family room to see what the beloved bunny left for them. Hugs, kisses, giggles and squeals were to be had by all…. all while I captured it on video and in pics…
Well… a girl can dream, right? First off, I forgot to make my French toast casserole the night before, and it just doesn’t work well if you don’t. I did ‘try’ to video the reaction to the bunny’s surprise, but it ‘flopped’. The littles actually didn’t display much emotion at all… no giggles or squeals like I had hoped for. Come to think of it, the only emotion I saw from them was in the form of adrenaline rushing through their bodies once they realized there was CANDY on the floor. My single-file line suddenly went from a nice, leisurely, walk into a full on SPRINT.
Noah & Eli were excited, at least…
Since we were not experiencing the lovely smell of cinnamon baking into a nice, sticky, breakfast, I didn’t feel quite so bad letting them eat just ONE little something from their baskets. Luke & Aidan quickly jumped on the marshmallow bunnies (and who wouldn’t???). I opened one for each of them and they quickly disappeared into their mouths. I’m not sure they were even chewed at this point. By the time I had the first one opened, so that I could open the second…. the first child was back with another one. I lost count on how many Luke & Aidan ate…. especially Luke. Don’t let his small size fool you… he does like to eat… especially when it comes to ‘sweets’ (he is MY son). That’s ok… it was Easter, and after all, it was just marshmallows (and chocolate), right?
I was so caught up in opening (and eating) marshmallow rabbits, I hadn’t noticed how quiet Liam was. Liam had decided to work his daddy instead of me. Do you think he was having little marshmallow bunnies for breakfast too?
NOOOOOOOO…. not LIAM. Liam is smart.
I turned around, only to find Liam devouring a full-sized Reese’s egg. He wasn’t letting it go either. No way. I was afraid he was going to top it off by eating the wrapper… he just licked it clean, instead.
So, here are the remains of Easter breakfast at our house…
Better luck next year, right?
Thanks, Easter Bunny!!! (BOK!!! BOK!!!)
