Yesterday the trio decided they wanted to play on their Clubhouse Climber. We had to put the playscape on the side of the house in the courtyard area, given the size of our backyard. It works out nicely, as it gives them 2 different play areas outside. Unfortunately we don’t play here as often as we should. This courtyard area is accessible from both the back yard and another courtyard in the front. There is a gate at the front that allows access to the front door, so the entire yard is fenced in. However, the front gate is not child-proofed so I have to be careful to make sure one of the littles doesn’t sneak off to the front and let the dogs out, or worse, ESCAPE.
We have a rule that if one plays on the side yard, we all play on the side yard. They like to divide and conquer, but this just doesn’t work. (Well… the conquer part does, I guess.) I learned the hard way, unfortunately. We lost Liam for a few minutes one day and my heart almost stopped in fear. He was fine, just wandering down the street barefoot and care-free, but those few minutes felt like hours to me. So scary! Now I have a patio chair blocking the path from the back and it has helped contain them. I am constantly counting kids when we are outside. We need to spend some time at Home Depot to remedy this one!
Here are a few pics of them playing..
