Here lately, the littles are starting to play really well together. Sure, lots of times 3’s still a crowd, but they’re getting better at sharing (better is a relative term around here…). They still usually play in ‘pairs’, but the they take turns so that there’s no clear ‘favorite’ brother. Lately they’ve been asking for Eli to play with them (Aidan calls him ‘Ly’). E’s still at the age where he likes to play, and they LOVE him for it… so I guess you could say that E’s the favorite brother right now. Some of the most popular activities these days are cars (all shapes and sizes, but the firetrucks are frequently fought over), choo-choos, blocks, and of course their ‘bikes’ they got from Santa (Santa could not have picked a better present for these boys!). My kitchen is still a bike racetrack every single day. Eli rides one of them, often on the back of one of the littles and they fly around here like crazy. I’ve been trying to get this on video because it’s hysterical to watch, and just can’t fully be explained in words. Chaos at its best. I’ll keep working on it. It’s never quiet at my house, that’s for sure.
On the home front, Matt & I celebrated our TWELFTH anniversary this past Sunday. Twelve years and five kids later… and still going strong. We had brunch at our favorite cafe at the beach then laid low the rest of the day. It was a great day!
Noah & Eli are officially out of school for their summer break. No more 1st or 4th graders here! This is their first of 5 full weeks off, and so far so good. (I may eat those words by week’s end, but for now we’re doing ok.) It’s been nice not having to load up the car for the to/from school routine. It’s also been nice not to have to wake the littles from their naps in the afternoons. We have a special visitor coming in less than 2 weeks and we’re planning to enjoy our stay-cation by doing Disneyland, the beaches, Hollywood, etc. We’re all looking forward to it!
Just a few ‘play’ pics from last week…
Liam decided to give Luke a ride just like big brother E does it… so sweet!
Pooh is one of our ‘babies’ these days…
Yes… Luke has a belt in his hand. Daddy must have left it somewhere, and for some reason Luke thought it would be fun to play with.
I love this picture of Luke… he looks so innocent! That’s the top of Aidan’s head. He didn’t seem to want to look at the camera this day, I guess…
