Does this picture SCARE you?
It scares ME! It doesn’t happen often, but we do take them ‘out’ to eat sometimes. Each time we are reminded WHY we don’t do it often. They are actually pretty good most of the time, but there are just SO MANY of them. (And I wonder why I’m always asked ‘are they all yours?’.) This picture was actually taken before we had our food… just some fries to tide them over. The littles refuse to sit in high chairs when we are out, so we typically get a large booth and sandwich them in. Unfortunately I usually end up with (at least) one in my lap, removing food from my plate only to place it into my drink by the end of the meal. Gross, I know. It’s a game of defense at our table, trust me.
I know the tables around us get entertainment from us, if nothing else. Shoes taken off, shoes put back on, sippie cup dropped (thrown) on the floor, dive under table to pick up said sippie cup, ‘we do not EAT the crayons please’, someone’s crying, blanket now on the floor, ‘can I go to the bathroom?’, where’ shoe #4, size 7?, dive back under table to pick up blanket… find 8 crayons, bump head on table on way back up, ‘that’s enough ketchup!’, wipe crayon off of table, ‘please turn around and leave that lady’s hair alone!’, more crying, Oh, there’s the shoe…, ‘Yes I see the BUS outside!’, arms flying all different directions, food flying, MY food flying, ‘I still need to go to the bathroom’, ‘I only see 2 pacis… where’s the other paci?’, ‘please eat off your own plate’…. ‘No, fries do not belong in my tea’, ‘No, you can not go across the table to sit with daddy right now’, sippie back on the floor now, ‘NO YOU CAN NOT GO TO THE BATHROOM!’, ‘where’s the $%&# shoe???’… Whew! It’s definitely a workout to eat out as a family… burns calories, I guess.
Since they were so good we walked down the street and topped off the night with some frozen yogurt.
What’s a little sugar, anyway?
