This morning I found myself staring at the computer, trying to decide what to blog about. I seem to be on a roll here lately and I certainly wouldn’t want to break my stride!
But today… I’ve got NOTHING… NADA… ZIP!
Can you believe that??? Anyone that knows my family personally can vouch that there is always some form of drama going on. There is ALWAYS something… be it extreme comedy (from an outsiders view, at least) or some tragedy (big or small)… we add our share of craziness to the world. I can’t even quantify the number of times I have been told I need to write a book. I would, if I knew where to start. It would probably be a best seller. No lie.
This rare event has me thinking. My personal world has changed radically. In the last three years I’ve gone from a CPA work-a-holic with 2 kids in full time daycare, to a stay-at-home-mom of 5 boys (& 2 male dogs) that spends her time chasing & diapering toddling triplets, in between cleaning my own house (gasp!), shuttling children to/from school, maintaining the household budget, and processing the mountains of laundry that never seem to end. I’m a blogger, a wanna-be cook extraordinaire, a reality TV junkie (sprinkled in between my McHotties & Gleeks), a couponer (trying, at least)… and I’m getting pretty good at typing run-on sentences!!! Gone are the days of putting on makeup every morning and dressing to ‘impress’. My ‘down’ time these days typically involves searching the Internet for my next recipe to try out, making my grocery list for said recipes, printing coupons, oh… and my Facebook addiction (come on, you know you have one too). Going to the grocery store is now ‘fun’ for me (when I get to go alone, at least!).
We are now closing week 3 of spring break here and the Suburban has literally been parked in the driveway the majority of the time. We’ve had no reason to leave the house, and it’s been NICE. Aside from wanting to go to the beach (which obviously I can’t manage by myself with 5 kids, including 3 non-swimming toddlers), N&E have preferred to stay home too. They don’t enjoy going to Target like I do for some reason… icee or not. I’m actually starting to enjoy being a ‘homebody’, who knew?! [WHO AM I???]
You know what? I’m liking the ‘simple’ life these days. It’s amazing what the blessing of triplets has brought to my life. Each time we go out and I’m asked ‘are they ALL YOURS?’ and each time I’m told ‘your hands are FULL’, I just smile. Yes, they are…. and I wouldn’t change a thing.I guess I’ve been sitting here ‘thinking’ long enough… time to go clean the artwork off the kitchen floor.
Monday all things go back to normal. I’m afraid I might just have to treat myself to Starbucks. I have a coupon for B1G1 Dark Cherry Mocha, and I plan to drink BOTH.
