Buying *cute* clothes for 5 boys gets expensive… ridiculously expensive. Actually, come to think of it, even the not-so-cute clothes are expensive when you are buying x5! I am asked all the time where my favorite place to shop is for the kids. Yes, I am a Gymboree, Gap, Old Navy, and Carter’s fan, no doubt. Target gets a lot of my money these days too. However, my FAVORITE place to shop, HANDS DOWN, is the closets of OTHER BBB TRIPLETS!
Just look at the summer duds we just scored from the spanky bottom boys back in Austin!
This is 21 pairs of shorts, 3 bathing suits, 3 pjs, and 39 shirts… all very gently used, and in my favorite brands. Can you say S-C-O-R-E!!? Even with shipping you can’t beat resale prices. We were THRILLED to get the box last weekend!
We’ve been buying from the spanky’s ever since I was pregnant. I was fortunate enough to run into their mom at a MOMs sale in Austin, and we’ve been friends ever since. (I must admit that when I read her blog I’m eyeing the clothes we are certain to get down the road… haha!) Her boys are a year ahead of ours, so it has worked out nicely. We can literally wear these things right now! I’ve also recently purchased some shirts and pants from a set of BBBs here in CA. They are a bit larger so we should be set for awhile. What I’ve learned about the weather here… seasonality doesn’t come into play all that much. Long sleeves, short sleeves, long pants, shorts… I can get an assortment of all, and know they will wear it before outgrowing the size. Of course they do get some things new, but this way I don’t have to completely break the bank and buy everything new. Yes… I did keep N&E’s clothes. I’m finding that unless I have 3 coordinating pieces, I’m not using much of them. I’m taking advantage of dressing these little guys alike as long as I can… not to mention it is so much EASIER… and I’m all about easy (when I can get it)!
I certainly can’t take them out like this, as much as they might like that…
