Another commercial jingle I won’t be able to get out of my head now, lol!
Ever since we moved into this house back in December I have had the darndest time with these kitchen cabinets. They are simply un-baby-proof-able. I don’t know how to explain it in words really, but there is nothing to attach a latch to, i.e. no ‘dust covers’ as they are sometimes called. We’ve gotten by with only putting breakable items in cabinets that are 2 side by side (we can strap those). All the single cabinets and drawers are free reign, unfortunately. We go in phases…. I used to have a problem with the bakeware being dragged out of the cabinet and into the family room. (Ahhhh, the sound of metal banging on coffee tables and wood floors… so soothing!) That finally got old. One of the worst was our kitchen gadget drawer. I finally got all of the kabob skewers and other pointed objects out of there, but not before a few made a mad dash across the room in the hands of a toddler. My toaster, blender, and what was formerly known as a coffee maker are quite popular (don’t worry…. Mr. Keurig is safe!).
Unfortunately the trash cans were designed into the cabinet layout and they are in the kitchen in a tall drawer. You would think that I don’t feed my children as many times (many more than I would like to admit) as I’ve found them eating out of the garbage. Most of the time it’s empty yogurt cups and the occasional Diet Coke can. However, today’s find was a bit unexpected and simply just takes the cake…
You just can’t help but laugh….. ;)!!!

We use safety first "tot-loks". It is a magnatized lock that attaches to the back of the cabinet door. Nothing visible from the front, but you need the magnet to open the cabinets.
